Producer - Entertainment (Part Time)
Reduced Listening is an award-winning independent production company, specialising in acclaimed radio and podcasts about ideas and culture. We love working collaboratively, opening windows to new worlds for our audiences. Our clients include the BBC, Spotify, Audible, the Wellcome Trust, Factory International and The Southbank Centre.
We are looking for a culturally-aware creative Producer to work on a new weekly entertainment video podcast for a major broadcast platform. This is an opportunity to launch a new high-profile podcast with weekly cultural hot takes on pop culture and internet trends. We are looking for someone to be part of a growing team passionate about entertainment and to help create something distinctive that lives beyond the feed.
If you live and breathe pop culture, know exactly why a cultural topic is trending online before it hits the mainstream, and love spotting what cuts through the noise on social media, RSS and YouTube, then this role is for you.
You will be working directly with the hosts, crafting weekly content strategies, and ensuring our technical output matches our editorial ambition.
Key Responsibilities:
Editorial & Content Strategy
Host Collaboration: working closely with our hosts to curate, debate, and select essential weekly pop culture and online/trending cultural talking points.
Trend Forecasting: monitoring social media trends and podcast landscapes to ensure the show remains ahead of the curve.
Research & Prep: Produce concise, high-impact "topic packs" and briefing notes to prepare hosts thoroughly for recording sessions.
Creative Input: Contribute ideas for format tweaks, special segments, and audience engagement strategies.
Talent Management & Directing
Talent Liaison: Work with the Executive Producer to be a trusted point of contact for hosts.
In-Studio directing: share in-studio directing to confidently guide and direct hosts during recording sessions to acheive the best energy, pacing, and comedic timing.
Client Management
Post-Production & Technical Execution
Video Editing: Ingest studio material and set up the longform sequences. Deliver first cut of multi-cam video edits using Adobe Premiere Pro and share with the Digital Producer.
Social media clips: Ability to support Digital Producer with editing social media clips to a high standard.
Quality Assurance: Ensure all outputs meet broadcast-ready standards for both full-length episodes and social media clips.
About You (Skills & Experience):
Essential Criteria:
The Ultimate Culture Fanatic: You have an encyclopaedic knowledge of internet culture, celebrity news, TV/Film, music, and broader cultural conversations.
You are a podcast and content fan and are always up to date with the latest content trends.
Proven experience in shaping content, scripting, or producing for entertainment media.
You must be proficient on Adobe Premiere Pro and Audition.
Demonstrable industry and talent-management experience.
Understanding of BBC Editorial Policy and guidelines.
Beneficial skills:
Experience making content for the BBC is helpful.
Additional digital workflow tools including Frame IO and After Effects would be good.
Ability to analyse data and turn insights into action.
Sharp writing skills for social copy and metadata.
A natural feel for audience behaviour, trends and digital storytelling.
A team player with interest in elevating the work of our company and contributing to ideas.
Good working technical knowledge including media management and the ability to troubleshoot problems.

Working pattern: The role is 3-4 days a week, spread routinely across the week.
Salary: £36,000 - £41, 000 pro rata’d and depending on experience.
