Miracle Marathon

The Miracle Marathon at London’s Serpentine Galleries ran during Frieze Art Fair in October, 2016. Reduced Listening worked with curators at The Serpentine Gallery to create a 12 hour broadcast of Ritual, repetition and magical thinking. It 'considered ways in which the imaginary can not only predict, but also play a part in affecting long-term futures.'

The event was streamed live and featured over 100 performers and contributors delivering live jingles, music, poetry, audio drama, essays and discussions alongside pre-recorded essays and pre-produced documentary and drama. It took place at Second Home in front of a live audience, with an array of junctions and set changes.

Artists included Tai Shani, Sarah Abu Abdallah, Martine Syms, Holly White, Jesse Darling, Mario Belatin, Meriç Algun Ringborg and Syowia Kyambi. Speakers included Neil McGregor, Eyal Weizman, Mark Cousins, Andrew O'Hagan, Genesis P Orridge. Musicians included Eska, Leafcutter Jon, Barnaby Brown, The Sacred Funk Project and Let's Eat Grandma.
